The present building that houses the head office and the main sales outlet is not far from this historic place. Siraj House Society (trust) was established in 1979 by Sheikh Fazal Elahi Akbar (late), with an objective to serve the society in particular and the nation in general. A free dispensary is working since 1980 in the premises of Siraj House Society located in Shad Bagh, Lahore. Realizing the need of an institution that would provide quality education for children of the area, Siraj House Society (trust) embarked on a project of establishing a higher secondary school. A purpose built campus with 22 classrooms, science labs, computer lab, library, and an administration block was completed in 2004.
Over the past few years, the school has become reputable as the only school in the area with a purpose built campus imparting quality of education against a very nominal fee. Today, the school has 36 classrooms and separate blocks for boys and girls. The current strength of the school is 900 students and it has achieved excellent results in Punjab Board exams. More than 90% of the students have scored A grade in Primary, Middle and Matric Board exams. Akbari Public School's alumni is represented at Lahore's top colleges such as GC University, FC College, Punjab College and Islamia College - Civil Lines.
